Short Story Time: SP Road's Kadi Samosa

07-MAR-2019 was a again a awesome day awesome experience!!!

At 9.30 am, I woke up from a power nap. Had a call early morning, at around 4 am with US team members to find solution for a problem. (Even though I had realized that no one cares of such efforts, its just that the passion for what I do kept me driving)

I freshened up, checked time 9:45 am. Bad time to start for office (Bengaluru Traffic, God Bless!). I opened my office laptop set Work From Home status. Went through mails, replied back to important ones. Started listing out the tasks for the day. And realized I will have free time in afternoon as there will be work again in night. Remembered about the SP Road Visit Plan.

*(SP Road in Bengaluru is a electronics goods and components market. I had to visit in order to find a particular part that one of my office colleague required for his hobby project. I also wanted to visit the market to tick of my bucket list of visiting Electronics market of the city I reside or may reside in future)

I messaged a friend of mine, Shivam, to know if he is free in afternoon (He likes to explore places, and top of it is a co-writer of a travel blog). Shivam gave a affirmative reply. And the plan was on!

Instead of directly booking a cab/auto we preferred to travel via BMTC Bus. We had a meeting point at the bus stop outside Shivam's office premises. We started at 2.30 pm and reached Town Hall by around 3:45 pm. Then we started our walk towards the SP Road. Once we reached the SP Road. It was a shops galore. And our expedition started for finding a proper shop wherein we may get the parts required by my office colleague.

It was evident that it will be a long ramble. Going from one lane to other in search of the shop. Enquiring with the folks around. While passing by a lane we came across a lane with shops specifically for mobile spare parts. Shivam had to replace the lid of his mobile camera which he was not getting elsewhere. We found out that it is available in a shop so decided to get it repaired. As he was short on cash, Shivam went to ATM to get some cash to pay up for repair work (Going to ATM was a very important coincident).

Meanwhile, I waited at the shop sitting on the table outside the shop. As the repair guy was getting his work done. We had chat about soldering components, common affinity towards hardware work and he gave proper shop names where I will get the parts required. Shivam came back, collected his mobile. And we headed straight to the shop names given by the repair guy.

At the shop I enquired for the parts, but that particular part was not available. I gave a call to my office colleague to let him know about it, he suggested to pre-order if possible and then he himself will collect it once available. The shop owner agreed and me and Shivam were done for the day. Time 5:45 pm :)

As we started trudging away from shop. We both told to each other in unsion, "Bhuk Lagi Hai (Hungry!)". This is were going to the ATM coincident helped because Shivam recollected that he saw a Samosa and Chat Thela in one of the lanes. And then we searched for it until we found it after 15 minutes.

As we stood by the Thela we were checking out things available. First thing that caught our eyes was the "Kadi Samosa" - Hot Samosa smashed and Kadi (Made with Curd and Spices) poured over it. Simply Delicious!!!

Walking back to the bus stop, at the back of our mind we knew that once we are back at our respective rooms we have to open laptop and start the grind, but at that very moment it was simply one thing in mind, heart and stomach. Kadi Samosa!!!

Smile :)

P.S.
1. "Kadi Samosa" resembles all the small beautiful instances of happiness in life which we neglect/miss/sacrifice for things which are actually not worth it.

3. We had Kadi Samosa, Mirchi Pakoda and Sev Rabdi. Folks in Bengaluru feel free to visit SP Road once Lock Down gets over. And finding the Thela would be your self-exploratory adventure.

4. 'Thela' stands for a small shop which mostly is an hand driven cart.
